4.48 Psychosis
By Sarah Kane
The Stood at Purchase College, NY
May 2013
During this compelling process our ensemble engaged in a deep theatrical investigation of fantasy, violence, abandonment, the thin line between life and death, and the delicate balance between the carnal and the civilized. Now re-envisioned, this story stands as a testament to the artistic process of a playwright who, haunted by the distorted memories of her past, writes the lives of a Physician and Patient with whom she becomes obsessed. Twenty audience members per performance will move through this immersive and nightmarish landscape that attempts to blur the boundaries between theatre/performance- spectator/participant.
